1 Where your data is stored
Polyodos uses a replicated database: you always work on a local copy in your browser, and that copy synchronizes with the location you chose. This lets you keep working during a network outage—synchronization catches up when the connection returns.
What you choose is therefore the destination de cette synchronisation.
What each option entails
| Polyodos hosting | Private—workstation | Private—your network | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where the data resides | Nos serveurs, en Europe | Your workstation | A machine on your network |
| Leaves your premises | Oui, vers l'Europe | No | No |
| Travail hors connexion | Oui | Oui | Oui |
| Plusieurs utilisateurs | Oui | Non — un seul poste | Oui |
| Study sharing and transfer | Oui | No | Within your network |
| Account and access management | From your workspace, hosted by us | Aucune — poste unique | By you, on the instance |
| Mise en place | Immediate | Installer l'application de bureau | Assisted installation |
| Sauvegarde | Handled by us | Handled by you | Handled by you |
A private instance is administered locally
This is the logical consequence of that choice: on your network, you retain control of accounts and access. Users, permissions, and study sharing are managed on the instance itself, without involving us—this is precisely what ensures that no information about your teams or analyses reaches us.
The organizational features of our hosted platform—teams, invitations, and centralized license management—therefore have no equivalent on a private instance. They would not make sense on a machine that you administer.
2 Laquelle choisir
You are a consultant or integrator
Choose Polyodos hosting without hesitation. You work for several clients, share deliverables, and above all transfer your studies at the end of an engagement—which requires a location accessible to both parties.
You operate an industrial site
Choose the private server on your network if your policy prohibits external hosting of safety data. Otherwise, Polyodos hosting is simpler and requires no machine to maintain. This deployment is assisted— contact us.
Changer d'avis
A project's storage mode can be changed later. A study started in the browser can be moved to your private server, and vice versa—with no re-entry.
Team ownership
A project can also belong to a group rather than one person: it then belongs to that group's current administrator. If that responsibility changes hands, the project follows automatically—your team retains control even if the person who created it leaves the company.
3 Transfer a study to your client
An analysis delivered as a PDF becomes static in a shared folder. The following year, reassessment starts from scratch—and nobody benefits.
Polyodos lets you transfer the live study itself:
- You conduct the engagement in your workspace, with your license and title block in the reports.
- At the end of the engagement, you transfer the study to your client, who becomes its owner.
- You remain a contributor —you retain access for reassessment.
- Your client maintains their analysis between engagements by subscribing to the Polyodos plan that matches their size.
At the next reassessment, you resume an up-to-date file instead of rebuilding it. Your client never loses control of their analysis.

4 Retrieve your data at any time
You can export all your studies whenever you want from the application, without asking us or obtaining prior authorization.
Ce que contient l'export
- your studies and analyses, including their versions;
- the reports and spreadsheets you produced, in their original format;
- the libraries you created or enriched.
The format is open and documented: you can read your data without Polyodos using a browser and an office suite.
Three distinct items
| Objet | Qui s'en sert | When |
|---|---|---|
| Sauvegarde | Nous | Continuously, for Polyodos hosting. This is an operational backup, not your copy. |
| Export | You | Whenever you want, including when you leave. |
| Transfert | You, to your client | En fin de mission. |
5 Who owns what
Your analyses belong to you. We claim no rights over the studies, data, and documents you produce, and we do not use them for any purpose other than providing the service.
The supplied libraries remain ours. The catalogs of supporting assets, risk sources, measures, and reference data supplied with Polyodos are licensed for the duration of your subscription. To ensure your analyses remain reproducible, a copy is frozen in each project when you use it—this technical copy does not transfer ownership to you.
What you add belongs to you. If you enrich a library, the items you create or modify are your data and are returned to you with everything else.
