2.2 — RS/OT pair assessment
Workshop 2.2: assess the relevance of each risk source / targeted objective pair identified in 2.1, and decide which ones are retained for the rest of the study.
The two rating axes
| Axis | Question |
|---|---|
| Motivation | How much does the risk source want to achieve this objective? |
| Resources | Does it have the means to do so — technical, financial, human, time? |
Combining the two gives the relevance of the pair, on four levels: Highly relevant · Fairly relevant · Moderately relevant · Barely relevant.
Two views
Table — one row per pair: source, objective, motivation, resources, relevance, priority, and the Retained indicator (YES / NO).
Rating matrix — a Motivation × Resources grid. Clicking a cell cycles through the relevance levels. This is the fastest view for rating in a group workshop session.
Retaining a pair
Only pairs marked Retained move on to Workshop 3 and feed the mapping to feared events.
Retaining is not the same as rating
A highly relevant pair can be excluded (out of scope, already handled elsewhere), and a moderately relevant pair can be retained for a client requirement. The decision is explicit and distinct from the rating — it is what defines the scope of Workshop 3.
Libraries
The Risk source and Targeted objective fields can be entered freely or chosen from the risk source library — see Risk sources.
