0 — Study context

Mandatory starting point: all information entered here feeds the report headers.

General tab

FieldDescription
Study titleFull label (e.g.: Risk analysis — Ammonia storage unit)
Studied systemName of the site, facility or system
Unit / SubsystemSubset if the study is partial
Organization / Engineering firmCompany or department responsible for the study
Study managerName of the project lead
Facility managerOperator or owner of the facility
Document referenceReport number (e.g.: RI-2026-001)
VersionIncrement at each revision (e.g.: 1.0, 1.1, 2.0)
Start date / Planned end dateStudy planning
General descriptionBrief description of the process or facility
General notesFree remarks about the study

Methods tab

Hazard study mode (toggle) — enables the PHA-EDD, the PIGC metrics (SEVESO/ICPE) and forces the advanced Bow Tie. Enable it for any SEVESO or ICPE study.

PIGC metrics (sub-option) — enables the regulatory Probability/Intensity/Severity/Kinetics grids. These grids are fixed (compliant with the SEVESO decree) and are not editable.

Analysis methods — check the methods you will use. Only the corresponding pages appear in the side menu:

  • PHA — Physical risks
  • PHA — Hazard study (requires Hazard study mode)
  • FMEA
  • HAZOP
  • LOPA

Bow Tie type:

  • None — no Bow Tie page
  • Simple — qualitative cause/barrier/consequence representation
  • Advanced — probabilistic quantification, AND/OR gates, MOCUS calculation

Scope & Objectives tab

FieldDescription
ObjectivesPurpose of the study (e.g.: Identify major SEVESO scenarios)
Functional scopeFunctions and processes covered
Geographical scopePhysical areas included (buildings, units, battery limits)
ExclusionsElements explicitly out of scope — to document for regulatory justification
Applicable regulationsReference texts (SEVESO III, ATEX, prefectural orders…)
AssumptionsConditions assumed true throughout the study

Team tab

List the study participants:

  • First / Last name
  • Role — process engineer, HSE, maintenance manager, external expert…
  • Role in the study — facilitator, secretary, expert, approver

Sessions tab

Record each work session:

  • Date and duration
  • Participants present
  • Agenda
  • Minutes / decisions made

Documents tab

List the input documents used: P&ID, PFD, MSDS, previous studies, site plans…

Revalidation tab

Plan the review of the study:

  • Revalidation frequency (e.g.: every 5 years)
  • Trigger criteria (facility change, incident, regulatory change…)
  • Person responsible for revalidation
  • History of past revalidations

Templates

The template bar (at the top of the page) lets you save the configuration (methods, Bow Tie type, hazard study) as a reusable template. Click an existing template to apply it to a new project in one step.
