First steps

Create a new project

  1. From the home screen, click My Projects in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the New project button (top right corner).
  3. Select the analysis type:
    • EBIOS RM (IT) — information system cybersecurity
    • IEC 62443 (OT) — industrial system security
    • Industrial Risks — PHA, FMEA, HAZOP, LOPA, Bow-tie, Fault tree
    • Multi-method — combines several modules (Industrial Risks + EBIOS, etc.)
  4. Enter a meaningful project name (it appears in every export).
  5. Click Create — you land directly on the project home page.

Choosing the right type

The project type determines which modules appear in the menu. You cannot change it after creation: if you picked the wrong one, delete the project and create it again.

The left sidebar lists every page of the active module, numbered in the recommended working order. Click a page to go straight to it.

The current project name sits at the top of the sidebar. If you have several projects, go back to My Projects to switch.

Opening an existing project

On the My Projects page, each project appears as a card showing:

  • the project name and type
  • the date it was last modified
  • the synchronisation state (local / synchronised)

Click a card to open the project.

Automatic saving

Polyodos saves everything you type, in real time, in your browser (IndexedDB). There is no "Save" button to press after each change.

The ⚠ Unsaved indicator in the top bar signals a pending synchronisation with the server (only when you use a shared server). It disappears as soon as synchronisation completes.

To export a local backup (JSON file): Backup menu → Download project.

Undo / Redo

Every analysis page has ↩ Undo and ↪ Redo buttons in its header. Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y (or Cmd+Z / Cmd+Y on Mac).

History is limited to the current session and is reset when you close the tab.

Demo data

On each analysis page, the 🧪 Demo data button (visible in demo mode) fills in worked examples so you can explore the tool without starting from a blank page. Click Clear demo to return to an empty state.

Working as a team

If your organisation runs a Polyodos server, your projects can be shared. See Sharing a project.
